I’ve been through so many stupid, unexpected problems. have a little misunderstanding with friends, and the worst one is I’ve been tricked by people. For normal people, they must be mad, angry, especially they had lost millions rupiahs. But, me? I don’t know if I am too weird or my ‘abnormality’ is getting worst. Just like when I had that accident. I didn’t feel those bad emotion, i felt calm or maybe numb?, i (even) felt thankful *shrugged*
people said “learning by practice”. But as long as i live “learning by doing mistakes” happended to me.

This is the first Indonesian Science Fiction book I read. My friend who majoring chemistry (too) lent it to me. Like she said, the author has a “high” imagination but it’s good. She can write this good story and she was the first author I found who can make this type of story. Science Fiction or fantasy novels, especially the books I read, were usually written by non - Indonesian author. Well, I like this book. The story is amusing because there are some funny scenes to me. Most of it were caused by Hiro’s arrogance.
In this story, the main character is Hiro who has special ability to identify chemical matters by just touching the material. the New York police Department offered him a job as a counsultant to help them solve the cases. Hiro were described arrogant, blunt, and smart. Eh.. i mean genius. He can solve any cases easily, except the Helios bombs. He has to think harder to get into the clues of this terror….
I like Hiro’s when he’s with Karen. He’s acting cool and bossy to her but actually he care. I won’t say much because there’s no any romantic scenes here. Well, actually those were covered. Just read and find it.

(Goodreads)
Refrain told us the story about friendship, relationship. The relationship between friends, bestfirends, and family. The main story is about friendship between Niki and Nata. People said that there is no friendship between male and female. It will turns to another relationship, people call it love. Sometimes they’ll fall for each other. Sometimes only one of them who fall in love. But sometimes the boy or the girl actually has the same feeling, too, but (s)he didn’t realized it.
Love. It comes to us so suddenly. Some people will realize it immediately. Some people are confuse, they doubt their feeling at first. That is the love between couple. But what about love in family? The ralation between parents and the child? Sometimes, in some cases parents don’t realize their children’s love and need. It happened to Annalise who has a super busy mom. Her mom is a famous model and fashion design. She works at many places. She always move to another country. Sometimes Anna will go with her mom, too. But sometimes she have to stay, too. It’s impossible to people to not have permanent place to stay. It’s impossible to people to always moving, not to have bestfriends because they know, in the end they will leave….
Beside the book, Refrain was adopted to a film, too. But I prefer to read the book than watch the film. I suggest you to read the book first before watch the film. In the film some characters turn to bad ones, for the example Oliver. Actually he’s a good guy. But because of the film i got the meaning of Refrain, the title of this book. You’ll get it too when you listen to the song at the end of the film. Refrain…. or Refrained?
And what else that make me love this book? The giiifftttt!!! While i open the book, there’s a blue envelope inside with a letter that said……

Setiap tempat punya cerita. Dan inilah sepotong kisah cinta yang kami kirimkan dari Paris dengan prangko yang berbau harum.
Enjoy the journey,
“Setiap tempat punya cerita…” “There’s a story in any places…”
And this is the story of Paris. The story of Aline Ofeli, Indonesian student who continued her study in Paris. I got that Prisca describes her talented, strong but vulnerable, too. She has problem with her workmates, jealousy. Some of them are jealous of her talent that makes them hate her, arrogant.
She has problems with Sena, too, the boy she’d just meet. He’s attractive, talk active, outspoken, and mysterious. He shockingly appear and then disappear. Sometimes he’s unable to called but then he comes right in front of you. There’s something in him, something happens around him…
Prisca Primasari made this as a diary of Aline. It focuse on Aline’s feelings and her point of view of any objects of the book. And like Melbourne, another book of this series. A postcard with Eiffel picture slipped in this book. What a sweet gift. I’ve just found several great Indonesian novels, and Paris is one of them. It’sn not like Teenlit novels i read before which told the readers about Indonesian call it “cinta monyet” in high school. Ok, i admit it i used to like to read those kind of books, but now i prefer read the realistic ones.
I was touched by the part of Ezra. From the beginning of the story, Prisca never told us about his feeling. Well, actually once at he and Aline conversation part but it was more deepened described at this chapter, through the video Sena made. Aline cried while she watched the video and so did I. I, she didn’t, never realized how much he loves her. It’s like you’ve just found a treasure that had gone away…..
For anyone who likes Ezra, like me, Here’s the story of him. I’ve just found it in Prisca Tumblr :)
The opening of @ICF2014. Karawitan UGM, isn’t it? Like the other tradiitional musics, musik tradisi jawa memiliki keindahan dan nilai seni tersendiri. I like the music, i like their performance. #music #festival #culturalfestival #traditionalmusic
I know you care about me. I know you worry, especially after the accident came to me. But it is too much.
I know I’m your little girl, and I will always be. And i love being your little girl. But sometimes you need, you have to see me as a big girl. I know what I do, I know my limits. I know the risks of everything I’ll do and I can handle it. Sometimes you have to let me do something, anything new, i’ve never done before. Sometimes you have to let me solve my own problems. That’s the lesson everybody should take… That’s the part of growing up. That’s the thing I need to live my live in another day
